TWO DISTINCT OPPORTUNITIES IN TODAY’S HOUSING MARKET

Have you ever asked yourself, If I sell now, where will I go?

If this resonates with you, there’s something you should know. The number of homes coming onto the market is increasing which offers more opportunities and possibly better pricing.

The last couple of years was an extremely challenging market for buyers with minimal options. 2022 has been on an upward curve of increasing new listings becoming available. Just look at May last month there were 526,000 new listings up 61% from January which had 326,000 new listings.

So what does that mean for current homeowners like you? Let me break it down into two distinct opportunities in today’s housing market.

Opportunity #1: Take advantage of more options for your move

If your current home no longer meets your needs or you no longer need as much, this gives you even more options for you to choose from which means there may be better pricing as well. Although it’s still a seller’s market, there is a softening that you can take advantage of.

Opportunity #2: Sell before you have more competition and sell higher before your competition takes lower.  What do I mean?

When the market shifts and we know it’s in a transition phase now, you won’t sell and decide on your property’s value before your neighbor decides to sell for less. With more new listings comes more competition which in turn drives the prices down. So before your neighbors sell out or set new lower comparables in your neighborhood, consider selling if that was on your agenda in the near future.

The increase in the number of homes being listed for sale is expected to continue. So as they say, sell higher and buy lower and that’s exactly the market we have right now for sellers who want to win on both sides.

Bottom line: if you’re a current homeowner looking to sell at some time in the near future, let’s connect to begin the process and take advantage of the unique opportunity this market has before your home has more competition.
